My friend and student Sharron Wanted to pant flowers. I haven't done it for a long time. It was really fun!!! Look at all the values and shapes ( not too many colors) It took as long as an 8x10 and it's tiny only 4x4 inches It would look great on a tiny easel. 4x4 original oil on canvas panel.
In Maui, the poinsettias grow like weeds on the side of the road. Impossible reds, impossibly big . I had to paint this incredible red Poinsettia.

The mysterious anthurium..the first time I saw one of these it reminded me of a plastic thing that you would buy at a 5 and dime store; but in Hawaii they are incredibly varied in their colors and size. Obake means mutant..it isn’t exactly a flower...it’s a leaf.
